Nice deep nutty color with a fine tan head. Bready and roasted aroma. Medium body. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Soft carbonation. Bready, a bit strange fruity, mild roasted and some coffee. Ok brown ale with some strange fruity notes.

Sample from tap at the brewpub. Pours brown with a amber hue. Long lasting creamy head leaving wonderfull lacing. Dried fruity and dark caramel malt aroma. Medium body. Flavour starts out slight malty revealing a nice floral and grapefruit set of hops note before going into a solid caramel and roasted malt dominated flavour with minor smoke and chocolate note. Very nice. Malty and bitter finish with a minor liqourice note.

Back at the brewpub for a dinner party at the restaurant section. I picked a few glasses of this brew as a partner to a grilled pork medallion. The food went well with the brown ale. Great foamy retention over a deep red brown body. Vague, but nice aroma of sweet dark fruits. Taste of dark malts and hints of burnt coffee. Notes of hops in the ending. Moderate bodied (13.01.2007).

Hazy brown beer with a lasting offwhite head. Lots of malt in the aroma, dry malty flavour with a light biter aftertaste.
