On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown with a dense beige head. Fruity, lightly roasted aroma with some piney hops. Flavor starts hoppy, but there is also malty caramel, some notes of roasted malt, and coffee. A bit thin body, and a long dry, hop-bitter and coffee-bitter finish. A pleasant beer that went well with their beef-stew. (060519)

Draught. Burnt plastic aroma. Clear dark brown colour. No head whatsoever. Tastes like burnt plastic too, only with some bitterness. I guess this was off.

[Draught at Københavnske Øldage] Clear brownish amber, creamy head. Sweet and lightly roasty with medium body. As the hop rate is low, roasty malt dominate the flavours. Licoricelike finish with medium bitterness.

(On tap) Very beautiful clear mahogany with a warm, reddish glow. Handsome, creamy, beige head with excellent retention, finally settling cappuchinoish on top of the beer while leaving a neat lacework. Spicy, hoppy nose. Medium body with marked notes of hard roasted malt leaving a slightly burned edge. Lightly hoppy finish. A very delicate and refined Brown Ale - American style. 250206

A slightly hazy deep red beer with a small ligth brown head. The aroma is sweet fruity - with some esters present, but also quite hoppy. The flavor is sweet and very fruity with a good hop presence, both to begin with and in the end, which makes it quite refreshing. In the middle the caramel and nuts makes their presence known. The end is bitter and very crisp, and when the bitterness fades notes of nuts comes back. Nice.
