Taste true liquid luxury in this decadent and nuanced Belgian-style quad. Pear and apricot aromas blend with caramel, fruit and spice flavors in the full-bodied amber ale.

Warming alcohol notes mix with a lot of fruity fermentation profile on the nose. Big and bold, this beer is a boozy, savory treat. Rich caramel, clove, banana warming.

Pear and tomato nose. Clear copper, medium yellow head. Pear and rosehip flavor with accents of fresh red tomatoes. Finishes with clover. More vegetal than expected (yeah, I know tomatoes are fruits) but in a delightfully good way. Alcohol is well concealed, which makes this a true ass kicker. Enjoyable and very unique.

bottle - Pours hazy orange with a small, lingering head. It has a fruity, yeasty aroma that’s really nice. The taste is very sweet up front with some light fruit notes and spicy yeast, but there’s also substantial hops that balances it out and leads into a dry finish. Very tasty.

Bottle shared at David Copperfield’s. Pours a cloudy amber with a slim, off-white head. Malty aroma with dark fruit notes, light booze and candi sugar. Flavor is quite sweet and rich, with lots of toffee and caramel, bread and yeast, raisins and pears and figs. Full bodied with mild carbonation and a warming character. Finishes with some Belgian sugar and ripe fruit notes, along with warmth. A very enjoyable beer.

750 ml. Hazy amber body. Fizzy, off-white head, diminishing. The aroma is slightly malty with notes of cookie, slightly hoppy with floral hints, and lightly yeasty with hints of basement and earthiness. Hint of alcohol. The flavor is lightly bitter, heavily sweet and lightly acidic. The finish is lightly bitter, moderately sweet and lightly acidic. Medium body, watery texture turning sticky, lively carbonation. I expected more complexity considering the brewer and the alcohol level. Too sweet. Anemic aroma. OK, but disappointing.

Pours clear copper color with off white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is fruity and bready. Moderately sweet fruit flavor with some caramel, dough and spices. Weird, medicinal aftertaste. Very boozy. The 12% ABV is not hidden at all. This really takes away from the enjoyment of the beer. Medium body with lively carbonation.

13th September 2008. Clear brown ale. Sweet malt with a porty and brandyish warming dry finish. Noticeably alcoholic but pleasantly so!
