Bottle, 75cl. A dark golden colored clear mead, still and quite oily. Honey driven aroma with a herbal touch. Alcohol and some grass. It’s full-bodied, warming, sweet and oily on the palate. Honey, flower, herbs and alcohol in the flavor. Lasting sweet honey-ish finish. Quite decent this one, although a bit straigth forward. 210813

Crystal clear golden colour. Thick and oily. Aroma and flavour have intense floral honey. Slightly resinous too. Sweet but not sticky.

Small bottle from the Westgate Wine & Cheese Company, Halifax. Clear deeper golden amber. Sticky-sweet in texture and taste with wine like qualities, its strength doesn't quite impact on its sweet honey style flavours as much as I expected.

Bottle sampled at The Vanguard at 1000 Trades, pours a clear copper, no head. Nose brings out treacle toffee and light bready notes. Flavour is quite intensely sweet, with toffee, honey nectar and brown sugar. Fairly bready and earthy, but revealing a very nice honey character. Very nice.

750ml bottle from Alko. Sweet, vinous and boozy mead with loads of honey and earthy notes. Heavy and sweet, gets quite unpleasant after a couple of sips.

A copper coloured, no head. Aroma has complex fruitness, perry, apple, honey and alcohol. Taste has the same elements as in the aroma, strong fruitness and honey, lots of sweetness, some flowers, warming in the throat. Full bodied, smooth. Tasteful even the high sweetness.
