Shared 750 ml bottle, thanks to gunnar. Vintage 2010, ABV 10%. Bottle No. 3495 out of 3800. Pitch black colour, rich tan head. Intense aroma of bourbon and vanilla, oak and molasses, roasty notes in the background. The fairly sweet flavour is roasty with notes of dark chocolate and coffee, also molasses, bourbon, vanilla and oak. Lovely stuff.

Bottle shared by badnewsbeers; #2828/3800, vintage 2010. Deep opaque brown body with reddish highlights, medium creamy light brown head. Nose of coffee and coconut. Body with toasted coconut, coffee, chocolate, and lots of molasses/dark sugars, imparting a firm sweetness that nicely balances the barrel flavors and alcohol. Pillowy and complex; pleasant but not world-beating.

dark brown color, slightly sour mouth, but with tons of bourbon. Big beer. Non- stop bam bam bam. Fuck yeah. Big black and beautiful. Just too much lingering licorice.

750ml bottle pours an opaque black with a creamy, frothy beige head. Uh oh, nose reveals an infection, a little bretty, light smoke, buttery, butterscotch, diacytel. Flavor is sweet, malty, chocolate, brown sugar, vanilla, butterscotch, light spice. Full bodied, silky finish. Thankfully it tastes a lot better than it smells. Still something off.

Bottle. Dry marzipan and orange liquor aroma. Black, fine brown layer. Bourbon spiciness, a lot of vanilla. very barrely, not much of the beer behind. Port finish. I am not the biggest fan of the bourbon sweetness.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, alcohol, and soy sauce. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, alcohol, vanilla, and roasted malt, leading to a dry roasted finish. The alcohol is felt on the tongue.
