Imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels
Namesake aside, this bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout is worthy of pouring every day of the week. Both elegant and complex, it exemplifies over 10 years of experience in barrel-aging technique. Notes of dark chocolate and vanilla are rounded out with hints of freshly picked cherries, dried figs, and molasses.

LCI Fairly thick, oily, completely flat. Massive bourbon, some roasty coffee, sweet caramel, dark chocolate, some booze for sure but not excessive. Very nice.

I've got a '20 version, pint can, of the brew, ABV is is on the label as 15.3%. Stashed for a few months, brought out on a late Friday night. An imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels, normally it does not get better than this, particularly from the Bruery. Poured into my ABGB snifter, I see a black with a hint of brown around the edges body with a small parchment brown skim. A glorious scent, chocolate, booze and berries. A taste, oh geez, this is grand, heavy with the bourbon booziness, bakers chocolate, caramel, hard candy, dark bread, alfalfa and strawberries to my tempered palate. High level indeed for a style I like very much. Rich and complex.
