Nonnen er en klassisk belgisk abbey-ale. Hun er brygget på gode råvarer, belgisk aromamalt, rørsukker, belgisk gær og traditionelle europæiske humlesorter. Smagen er holdt ren ved at undlade tilsætning af krydderier, som ellers er vanlig praksis hos vore belgiske kolleger. Gylden og indbydende med et vedholdende hvidt skum, behagelig uden skarpe kanter og dejligt fyldig. Nonnen tilfører Syndikatet et skær af fromhed og uskyld, men rygterne vil vide, at hun kan hjælpe med mere end syndsforladelse.

Medium, quite stable off-white head over fully hazy peachy golden beer. Bit oxydation. Faintly coloured malts, hint of ginger, and root spices. Again this spicey/rootspice flavours. Human sweat, meaty esters. Toasted grains. At the same time, seafruit-mineral: DMS? Medium bodied, quite slick, good carbonation. It might be that the young nun dropped in the brewing kettle - but I doubt it, as that would have been tastier. Average. Txs to Joren for bringing!

330 ml bottle, as Syndikatet Nonnen Abbey Ale, from BilkaToGo, Skalborg. ABV is 6%, IBU 22. Moderately hazy brownish-orange colour, moderate white head. Aroma of malts, hints of brown kandij sugar syrup and dark dried fruits. Smooth and spicy flavour, hints of brown sugar but not very sweet. Easy drinking.

Aroma: Sweet fruits with yeast and herbal notes. Flavour: Fruity sweet with citrus and white sugar. Aftertaste is sweet and lightly sour. Colour: Hazy amber with a white head. From: Bottle @ Bilka Tilst.

11/1/2023. Bottle shared by G&E at Ølhulen, many thanks. Pours clear golden amber with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is malty, yeasty, caramel, sweet fruits and candy cane. Quite nicely balanced. Likeable.

Sample @ Voldby Ølfestival 2016. Pours pale yellow with a big fluffy white head. Notes of grain, citrus, sweet malts, sugar, floral.

Bottle. Pours hazy darkish amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit, with notes of caramel and yeast. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt, with notes of Belgian yeast and touches of hops and fruit. Hints of cloves. Bitterish and estery aftertaste with touches of malt. Not bad!
