Nickname for the Spanish Armada, whose wreckage was washed up on the coast near Deal after they were sunk by the English fleet and weather. Adapted from an imperial Russian porter recipe, this beer is incredibly smooth with burnt chocolate and smoky malt notes mixed with delicate hop bitterness and floral notes.

На вкус как черная свинья. Горькая и терпкая. Больше похоже на портер английский чем темный лагер.

Cask at Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford (not listed on RateBeer) Pours a dark reddish brown with a small cream head and good lacing. Some roasted malts in the nose, but not much more. Taste is concentrated on dark fruits, but also layers of chocolate and liquorice. Chocolate remains in the finish, but it is also surprisingly sweet.

Cask at PoW, Farnborough. Floral and malty aroma, with a sour edge. Dark. Very bubbly beige head but it soon fades. Initial creamy sweetness before sour tingee berry bitterness kicks in. Light-medium bodied. Some slickness. Flat carbonation. Slightly astringent finish. Imperial? I think that the brewery are overegging that somewhat. However it does have some character to it and is not entirely lightweight.

Bottle, many thanks Andrew! Brown color with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, berries, cherry, earthy. Taste is lightly roasted malts, cherry off-fruit, chocolate, earthy. Silky mouthfeel, comparably high carbonation. Not bad, but I'm not sure if it's intended like that.
