Cask at The Hope, Carshalton ... where's your fucking beer festival ? 29/11/24. Deep chestnut brown topped with a lasting beige head. Nose is mellow fruit esters, herb, toffee, biscuit. Taste comprises toffee, light floral whisper, hedgerow, brown bread, nutty, bitter sweet. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a light bitter edge. Solid flavoursome cask bitter.

Bottle bought in Dover. Great smooth mild beginning. Roasted grain, caramel. Dry bitter, roast but a bit too dry. I miss the expected Ale yeast in the aftertaste. Roast and dry grain there, more a good dry Alt. Nice though. --- Beer merged from original tick of Imperium on 13 May 2023 at 20:12 - Score: 6. Original review text: Bottle bought in Dover.
