500ml brown bottle, taken at The Cask Pub and Kitchen, London Oct 2011. This light golden coloured beer could have been a regular Pils/Helles; at first it looked and had the smells you’d expect from a Munich breweries bier. However the smell began to become more pronounced, caramel and toffee esters began to merge with the usual grainy hop aromas normally found in Munich light coloured biers. Sweetish and very easy to drink, the hops although playing second fiddle to the malts do assert themselves at times and make this an interesting and refreshing drink. The alcohol isn’t completely hidden, not quiet enough depth of flavours to blank it out, it doesn’t sit in your face, but you can certainly feel it below the surface.
