We have a history of collaborating with our favourite breweries and have continued this tradition with Brodie’s. Brodie’s began brewing in 2008 when James and Lizzie Brodie took over an abandoned brewery in East London. Since then Brodie’s have established themselves as one of the most exciting breweries in the UK and have put out more than 150 different beers.

The beer was brewed in the Fraserburgh brewery and is our first ever foray into sour beers. It was a blast hanging with James, all the Brodies beers are amazing (look out for them on tap in BrewDog Bars) and we are pretty sure the Tayberry Berliner Weisse is going to be pretty epic.

Keg at various BrewDog bars. It pours hazy orange-amber with a medium white head. The nose is sour, lactic, light vinegar, cat litter, barnyard, earth, wheat, berry and rhubarb & custard. The taste is mouth-puckering tartness, rather fruity, sour berry, lemon, Granny Smith apple, passion fruit, rhubarb, light acidity, faint jamminess, lactic and sherbet with a long dry-tart finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Massively drinkable and good body for the style. Flavoursome and very well-balanced. Delicious!

Draught at CBC 2013.

Keg at BrewDog Shoreditch - London. Pours cloudy, matte orange-gold with a small, creamy white head. Rich, concentrated fruit aroma, some apricot and peach, hints of funk and acid. Light sweet flavor with mild acetic burn, good sour berries, some jammy fruit sugars. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Moderately sweet finish with strong tartness, zippy berries, very light citrus rind bitterness, peach and apricot. Has a good bit of body for a B-weisse. Very good stuff overall.

On tap at Brewdog Birmingham, pours a cloudy faded orange with a small off-white head. Aroma of intensely tart citrus fruits, loads of lemon especially, some barnyard notes, and hay. Flavour is quite tart and lemony, full of tart lemons that dominate monolithically, but are very dynamic on the palate. There is quite a high acidity, and a moderate horse blanket character. Great stuff.
