A brown so deep it’s almost black with a creamy tan head. Coffee, roasty, crisp burnt bacon and chipotle aroma. The taste is roasted coffee beans, a touch of pepper heat and some dark bitter chocolate. A roasted beast that’s beautifully drinkable.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Black body body with a thick beige head. Excellent lacing. Aroma of hazelnut, cappuccino and earth. Flavour of pistachio, chocolate and prunes. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Faint carbonation. The last few Arbor beers I’ve had have been top drawer.

Large bottle from Favourite Beers Cheltenham. Dark almost black colour with a greyish brown head. Aroma had lots of coffee, The taste had the twiggy burnt notes I associate with really badly made coffee. Hard to drink and couldn’t have finished a whole bottle.
