Bottle, picked up at ’Jacks’, Goring on Thames, Oxon, consumed at Crystal Palace Campsite, London, Saturday 4th October 2014. In mouth and on nose, some smooth milk chocolate a little lactic, very good. Black in colour, oily with a nice creamy oaty flavour also showing. Wonderful beer. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov17 4.1

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Pours jet black, dark brown head. Big roast coffee aromas, just coffee, nothing else. Taste is also lots and lots of coffee. Some sweetness comes through at the end, possibly chocolatey. Not bad.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a deep mahogany colour with a thin tan head. The aroma is big smoky peat, roasted malts, coffee and a little creamy caramel too. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a liqourice, coffee, malt, dark chocolate palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Has an oily mouthfeel and a long malty bitter finish. Loved this to bits. One of the best beers i’ve had from Arbor and that’s saying something!
