Flaske fra Holmens importavdelig, delt med importøren selv: brunsvart med fint lysebrunt skum som varer. Litt kaffe, røyk, fenalår og solbær i aromaen, og dette blir mer fremtredende i smaken etter hvert som temperaturen i glasset stiger. Slank og balansert, røykpreget er ganske diskret. Tørr avslutning.

On tap at Vlassky dvur, Cesky Krumlov. Clear mahogany coloured with a beige head. Malty and caramelly aroma with just a tiny hint of smoke and some dark fruity notes too. Sweet caramelly and slightly bready with a mild herbal bitterness. Butelka 0.5l (29.10.2015). Brunatna barwa, piekna, sredniodrobna bezowa piana, w miare trwala i ladnie krazkujaca. Zdecydowany wedzony aromat, przyjemnie drazni nozdrza, jakby wedzone wedliny, mieso, lekka spalenizna jakby wedzone torfem ale ogolnie daje ciekawy efekt. Po zapachu oczekiwania co do smaku byly wieksze ale tez jest OK. Piwo jest lekkie z delikatna wedzonoscia skontrowana nuta slodyczy, delikatne nuty palone gdzies w tle. Przyjemny niezalegajacy, wedzono-kwaskowo-slodki posmak. Pijalnosc dobra.

500ml bottle thanks to djoeye for sharing. Bubbly, tan-coloured head to a coal black body. Smell of liquorice and tar. Smoked malty flavours with dark malts and hints of grassy hops followed by bittersweet endnotes. Medium to thin bodied. Likable, however a bit thin on the swallow (Tromsø 22.01.2015).

Bottle from the brewery shop. Aroma is smoke. Med body. Flavor is smoke and dark malt. It’s not super strong smoke, but it’s smoky. IMHO it will stand up to the higher rated German Rauch beers. Nice dunkel under the smoke.

Bottle (best before October 2011) shared by Peter Bognar. Aroma lightly basement aromas. Very light smoke, hints of peat. Dark brown colour. Taste is slightly watery, lower body. Light smoke, roasted. Medium malty sweetness.
Another bottle (best before 2012) had some sourness. I could not tell if it was a sign of contamination/spoiling, or it was a genuine flavour in the beer.

Smells just like smoked bacon, with slight roasty notes - really interesting. A small bit metal, after some time reveals caramel aroma, which I don’t particularly like. Hardly any hop aroma. Black, nice tan foam. Light sweetness (I can live with it), lightly sour (quite acceptable). Light body, even a bit watery, average carbonation. Generally, an interesting combination, worth trying.
