Bottle (thanks to Mike Murphy!). Reddish brown colour, small off-white head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is chocolate, some wood, mild plum and some dried fruity tones with some earth and mild cellary tones. Flavour is port wine, toffee, some chocolate, plum, wood and mild wooden tones. smooth. Alcohol is a bit warming, but otherwise nicely hiding in both flavour and aroma.

Gave fra Sigmund til Rune som vi delte på Nerstranda 14 Okt 15. Dyp brunrød. Middels høyt skum med litt lacing. Søt fruktaroma. Smak av frukt & bær. Syrlig kirsebæravslutning.

330ml bottle by the courtesy of Sigmund. Shared back home with Finn. Dense, bubbly, fawn-coloured head. Opaque dark ruby body. Dark berries, plums, and malty sweetness on the nose. Prominent taste profile of half-tart berries, apple skins, black chocolate, and dark fruits, cherry impression. A nice blend, warming and well-bodied (at Finn’s, Tromsø 14.10.2015).

16.03.2013, 0,33l bottle sampled @ the brewery:
Lett nøytral frisk lukt med preg av malt, humle, mørke bær, litt metall, karamell, mandelessens, maling. Lett sødmerik tørr smak med preg av malt, humle, blå druer, raude bær, tre, gras, bærskal, karamell, maling, mandelessens, litt smørkaramell. God bitterhet som set litt. Grei.

Ebony with dense and persistent beige head and lacing. Aroma of prunes, dates, chocolate and English christmas cake. Sour taste, still of Christmas cake, with dry mouthfeel.

Keg@CBC2013 as "Grand Cru"
Dark brown color, small steady beige head. Caramelly, sweet nose. Medium-bodied. Kind of lagerish, caramelly flavor. This is weird, only some caramel and alcohol.

On tap. Pours a reddish brown with a small beige head. Nose has some tart red berries with a slightly "metallic" bloody touch. Medium body, again this tart fruitiness that never becomes overly sour - just pleasantly challenging without ever getting over the top. No real hop character much and feels nowhere near 9%! A nice "sour" for beginners. 111113

Sampled at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013 - Day 2, Session 2. As ’Lervig Grand Cru’. Pours clear, red-brown with a creamy tan head. Belgian yeast on the nose with toasty and doughy bread and light chocolate. Medium to big sweet flavor with semi-ripe fruits and mellow, tangy berries. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Light warmth in the finish with rich, sugary ripe fruits. Very nice.
