12oz bottle. This had been sitting in my fridge for almost 5 months. It was time to finally open it. Poured a motor-oil color, like the consistency of my oil in this 10 degree weather we’re having here right now. Aroma is sweet bitter chocolates, some light bourbon notes. Flavor began as some real bitter, burnt chocolate notes, but settled as it warmed to a nice bitter +90% dark chocolate. Very smooth and the alcohol is really well masked for what it is. Quite a tasty brew.

Bottle -thanks Sean! Pours opaque black, small creamy brown head, dissipates leaving good lacing. Aroma is roasty, bourbon, chocolate, vanila. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, a bit of anise and ashtray, bourbon and roasty notes, some woody astringence present, and almost coffee acidity. Finish is bourbon and bitter. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Nice effort, but not a star.

Bottle at Nona Tap Room. Pours black with a thin tan head that diminishes quickly. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and subtle bourbon. Full-bodied with flavors of roast malt, bourbon and coffee. The finish is slightly boozy with a roasty malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

3 oz. sample at Exhibit A(le). Pours black, with a small, tan head and thick lacing. The aroma is chocolate pudding, vanilla, oak, and caramel. Very sweet flavor, with little balance. Heavy body, creamy, and fairly smooth. Overall, this a mediocre stout, dominated by the bourbon.
