Koge's Choice. Brandy Barrels. Heaps of pepparkakor. Married to a big chocolatey stout. This was Stefan's (Koge to his friends) vision for his competition winning beer, which we brewed together at our brewery. This is a winner alright. Ginger, cinnamon and brandy-warming spice hit you along with deep chocolate notes in this incredible winter stout.

(Bottle) Dark brown colour, almost black, with foamy beige head. Malty, spicy nose with notes of gingerbread cake, cinnamon, chocolate, coffee, oak wood and vanilla. Malty, spicy taste with gingerbread, chocolate, coffee, cinnamon, oak wood, vanilla, orange peel and a touch of brandy coming through in a finish with a gentle roasty bitterness. Medium body, quite sweet. A bit sweet, but interesting and tasty. Quiet nice.

Bottle from Systembolaget. A bit of an odd one. The brandy was quite strong as was the pepparkakor but it was almost too much. Light body.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours opaque black with a creamy, beige head. Very intense Xmas cookie aroma, spicy much. Medium body, doesn't feel like 7.6% at all, not much roastiness its really all about the cookies. And the Brandy barrel isn't overly prominent either. But it kinda works because the whole thing is dry, with only the slightest sweetness. Otherwise it would've been cloying. That's two good Innis & Gunn beers in a row now - are these guys really stepping up their game?
