Anlässlich der 20-jährigen Partnerschaft zwischen unserer Heimatstadt Mitterteich und der englischen Stadt Cheddleton Wetley-Rocks / Stafford-Shire kam bei einem Besuch der dortigen Repräsentation zur Organisation dieses Jubiläums der Gedanke an Michael Hösl herangetragen ein ganz besonderes Bier zu brauen.
Der findige Dipl.-Braumeister und selbst Whiskyliebhaber ließ mit einer Antwort nichtlange auf sich warten und braute als Weissbierspezialität zur Überraschung für die englischen Freunde eine „Whiskey-Weisse".
Die Spezialmischung aus Whiskey- und Weizenmalz verleiht diesem Weissbier eine angenehm torfig, rauchige Note wie sie nur in erlesenen Whiskeys in seiner edelsten Geschmacksvollendung zu finden ist. Ein exzellentes Getränk und eine besondere Gaumenfreude für Freunde eines einzigartigen, außergewöhnlichen Geschmacks.

Bottle @ DØE meeting. Pours dark golden with a creamy white head. Aroma of malt, wheat, yeast, light sourness, light whiskey, light sweet fruit, banana, light smoke. Flavor is light sweet, light sour, wheat, yeast, whiskey, little smoke, banana. Medium body, average carbonation, light sour finish. 160316

Trübes orangesgelbes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, fruchtig. Geschmack hefig, fruchtig nach Banane, leicht holzig.

Cloudy amber color with medium sized head. The aroma is different; there is some wheat, but it’s more mellow than usual; almost biscuity. Wheat flavor, with a better defined cereals profile, it may be associated to Adelscott; very low bitterness; light biscuits in the end.

Orange/amber in color with initial thick head that fades fast. Some wooden barrel/whiskey in the aroma (faint), more so in the taste, plus peat. Normal weizen body and mouthfeel, and some lingering smokiness n the palate. A different take on the style.

Bottle from trade with bartlebier, many thanks. Dark brown golden color with huge off-wite head. malty, fruity aroma with banana, yeast. taste, wheat, caramel, banana, hints of honey, some fruitiness, hints of smoke, maybe some whiskey-ish notes. Long fruity finish. Tasty.

Bottle 0.5l at home. Colour is clear orange with no head. Aromas and flavours are whiskey, alcohol, wheat, fruits and sourness. Horrible, just horrible.
