Anlässlich der 20-jährigen Partnerschaft zwischen unserer Heimatstadt Mitterteich und der englischen Stadt Cheddleton Wetley-Rocks / Stafford-Shire kam bei einem Besuch der dortigen Repräsentation zur Organisation dieses Jubiläums der Gedanke an Michael Hösl herangetragen ein ganz besonderes Bier zu brauen.
Der findige Dipl.-Braumeister und selbst Whiskyliebhaber ließ mit einer Antwort nichtlange auf sich warten und braute als Weissbierspezialität zur Überraschung für die englischen Freunde eine „Whiskey-Weisse".
Die Spezialmischung aus Whiskey- und Weizenmalz verleiht diesem Weissbier eine angenehm torfig, rauchige Note wie sie nur in erlesenen Whiskeys in seiner edelsten Geschmacksvollendung zu finden ist. Ein exzellentes Getränk und eine besondere Gaumenfreude für Freunde eines einzigartigen, außergewöhnlichen Geschmacks.

Slightly hazy red amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of smoke, vanilla, banana, malts, tar and wheat. Quite sweet flavour, light sour touch, smoke, malts, vanilla. Quite full body, malty finish, banana, yeast.

50cl bottle @ Cafe Vingerhoeds, Oirschot. Hazy orange color, small to medium sized white to off-white head. Smell lightly malts, lightly butter, lightly some fruits. Taste is the same. Uninteresting imo. Soft mouthfeel.

Bottle. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow colour. Moderate malty and slightly smoked aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Strange but nice balance between whisky and fruit. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.

Wyczuwalne nuty zapachowe dla słodowej whisky. W smaku podobnie choć jednak przeważa pszenica i jej kwasowość, która miesza się lekko z nienachalną słodyczą. Kolor ciemnawo brązowy, podobny do whisku. Spore nagazowanie lecz szybku się ulatniają bąbelki wraz z pianą, ale podczas nalewania twoży się wielka czapa piany

50cl bottle from Bierzwerg. BBE 01/2013. Poured hazy, deep amber with a dirty white, lasting head. Aroma has smoke and some light fruitiness. Flavor has ripe banana, smokiness and fruitiness. Not too sweet, vanilla in the finish. Interesting, good weizen.

Hefig-herber, wässrig hefiger Beginn. Geringe Rauchnoten sind dabei vorhanden, die im Antrunk und Mittelteil, nicht aber im Abgang vorhanden sind. Mild hefig-whiskeyartig, zum Ende kernig, etwas getreidig. Süßlich. Angenehm würziges Weizen. 12/9/10/10/12/10

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Oren. Cloudy orange. Somewhat phenolic aroma of yeast, fruits and some bubblegum. Flavor has some subtle smokiness and decent fruity esters. Medium-bodied. Pretty nice.

Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a huge lazing yellowish head. The aroma has notes of smoke, wheat, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, wheat, and whiskey, as well as a lihgter note of smoke, that lingers into to the dry wheaty finish.

Bottle 500ml. @ home.[ Trade by Gabriel ]. Hazy medium grey orange color with a small, frothy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, moderate to light heavy yeasty, banana, msoke - meat notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, meat - smoke notes ( in the good way ;O)). Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100830]
