At a tasting, small head, a little deep golden colour, aroma of hops, spice and nuts, flavours of peanuts, fruit and an alcoholic sweetness and a little coarse bitterness, nice but not to complex.

Botted as "Weihnachts Bock" (Beerangel, BB 11/2009). Deep golden color, small white head. Grainy sweet malty nose with mild grassy hops. A bit bready. Medium-bodied. Bready, sweet malty, grassy hoppy. A bit harsh. Aftertaste is short, mostly some oily alcoholic flavors. Very close to East European strong lagers. Drinkable anyway.

Re-rate 6/7/10: Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks tomer. Clear golden. Aroma of malt, caramel, alcohol and some candies. Sweetish flavor, somewhat malty, with a bit of caramel sugariness and a herbal bitter finish. Light to medium body. 6/3/7/3/13=3.2
Bottle from a great trade with Koelschtrinker (thanks!). Hazy golden with a medium, diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish aroma of malt, some toastiness and caramel. Sweet malty flavor with caramel and some bread. A touch of hoppy bitterness. A bit of alcohol in the finish. Medium-bodied. A decent bock. 7/3/6/3/13=3.2

Faintly orange or even foxy tinted golden beer under a medium, very dense white head, persistent. Something chemical, solvent-like, acryl paint; after a few sniffs, one get used to it, and some toasted malts emerge, but putting away the glass for some time, this "aroma" returns in force. Toasted malts, a bit too sharp to be called sweet. Overly roasted cornflakes, roasted glazing. Ends on some heated milk flavour, sweet with a sharp, rather than bitter edge. MF confirms the impression of something sharp, nearly astringent. I really wonder if its me, or the beer - or just this bottle.

(bottle) Slightly hazy golden colour with a fluffy yellow head. Sweet malty aroma, slightly toasted with caramel and yeasts and a shy herbal hoppy background. Medium sweet flavour, medium body, smooth mouthfeel. Sweet malty taste, sweetbitter malty finish with a dense note of herbal hops. Quite rounded Bock, definitely not too sweet...!!
