We continue our experiments with vast universe of wild yeast and wood. Amalgam means mix, blend, fusion or alloy. And it's a perfect name for this beer which is a blend of wheat and rye beers transformed by work of tiny beasts (well, mushrooms, but it's details). More than half a year they works their way through this mix and changed the profile into a bone dry burst of tart apples, citrus (is it grapefruit notes? orange? tangerine? decide yourself) and pleasant glowing warmth. Deconstructed versions of wheat and rye are to follow. Time in the barrel (red wine): 8 month.

Draught@TCBW2023. Hazy yellowish golden colour with a mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is tartness, some slight funk as well as some floral and mild spiciness. Flavour is funk, some farmyard, mild spiciness, floral and mild citrusy tones too. Some tannin-like dry tones to it as well.

Head gone in seconds over gold-orange beer. Oranges on alcohol/wine and then a dash of (good) Bretts, but including floormop variety. Farmyard odours. Vinous (even a tad sweet - hints of sultanas), wild ale with farmyard and a hint of horsblanket. Warming up, the floormop Bretts become more obvious, but never harming the general balance. Fruitwine flavours. Acidthinning, good carbonation, lasting flavours. From Ukraine... Then again this was bottled AD2019, well before the imp invaded. Gods give this firm can continue.

Bottle thanks to Stuu666. Appearance - clear golden orange with a white head. Nose - creamy peach, wood and light funkiness. Taste - creamy red fruit this time, with still wood and funk at the back. Palate - light bodied with a creamy middle and finish. Overall - very nice.

Bottle 443, bottled 15.01.2021. Nice looking super clear gold, very unstable bit of white foam. Smells a bit sweet, tart, fruity. Body is fairly soft, some carbonation present, bit too light for me. Taste is not very sour, but highly funky. Cheese. Fruit.
