Launch into the exquisite flavors of bourbon with splashes of vanilla. Watch for currents of dark chocolate and dried fruit. Generous amounts of hops and malts make for a smooth journey from start to finish. Decadent desserts and aged cheeses make superb companions.

Dark brown with reddish hues brew sitting under about a fingers worth of off white foam.

The smell I get is all Bourbon and a strong bitterness.

The taste is even more intrusive with the Bourbon. Together with the very instringent bitterness, it gets to be a real chore to take the next sip. Too fresh and needs some cellaring? Maybe.

Fine fullish mouthfeel.

Too rough of a BA Barleywine for me.

Bottled @ de Molen thanks to PP, small sample. Slight hazy copper color, short head. Aroma is very biscuity bourbon, slight vanilla, lots of malt, caramel, hint of raisin, some alcohol. Medium sweet in taste, slight bitter, quite some alcohol burn in the finish. A bit too alcoholic to be really awesome.

Bottle - Vinous, oak and nice mellow hops. Dark but clear mahogany with a rich beige head. Oak, bourbon, hoppy notes and a light cany booze. Nice and woody, the hops give it a distinct American flavor.
