Launch into the exquisite flavors of bourbon with splashes of vanilla. Watch for currents of dark chocolate and dried fruit. Generous amounts of hops and malts make for a smooth journey from start to finish. Decadent desserts and aged cheeses make superb companions.

Bottle from 12/2011: Pours an attractive auburn with a creamy beige head. Nose is sweet with vanilla, dark fruits, and bourbon. A sweetness from the hops swims through the taste of bourbon, caramel, and fruits. Just shy of one year’s age and drinking quite well.

A pretty beer - clear dark red - brown with a nice light tan head. Oaky vanilla nose. Light soft palate, semi dry. Everything presents at once with this beer - vanilla oak, orangey hop bitterness, aniseed alcohol, creamy malt, tangy fresh orange marmalade. Well joined up. Semi dry and soft finish, Nice!

Väldigt gott. Välbalanserad. Doft och smak av torkad frukt, fikon, plommon, vanilj toner och trä. Blir nog ännu bättre vid lagring.

Corked bottle; bottled on 03/23/11
Dark amber color with a magnificent red, mahogany hue, and a creamy head. The aroma is very nice, with vanilla and fruity hops, deep but balanced. Good body strength, without being overwhelming; very strong caramel flavor, some fudge and toffee, a bit buttery too (but this is probably the cask), with powerful hopping, that is also quite resiny; evident oak presence. Excellent.

Bottle at Camp Beer IX. Pours a clear amber with small beige head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is raisin malt and caramel. Thick mouthfeel with a rich vanilla malt and wood in the finish. A very good barley wine from Uinta.
