Our Köstritzer cellar beer is an unfiltered, bottom-fermented beer specialty for real connoisseurs. Full-bodied and with natural turbidity, the original taste of the old brewing tradition was preserved with this beer. The best raw materials such as a special roasted malt, special malts and selected hops give the beer specialty from Köstritzer not only its unique aroma, but also its characteristic look.

Draft. A hazy golden beer with a huge off-white head. The aroma has notes of bread, malt, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, minerals, and bread, leading to a dry finish.

The beer starts smooth and slightly yeasty. Malty body, not too deep but not watery. The mainpart is easy to drink, quite dry, slightly yeasty, slightly bitter. The aftertaste is long, smooth-yeasty, slightly grainy (but it fits) and nice slightly bitter.
Nice Kellerbier, easy to drink, but not too deep. --> 7/12/8/8

Bottle from McTapps, many thanks Sabine. Malt, caramel, earthy hopsin aroma. Sweet malty taste, nuts, metallic notes, hoppy bitterness in finish. OK.

Bottle, 5.4%. Citric, sourish, earthy aroma. Cloudy dark amber colour. Small stable off-white head. Rustic fresh grain flavour with a dash of earth and a slightly rough bitterness. OK refreshing.

(bottle) Hazy, amber colour with a firm medium-sized and slightly tanned foamy head. Mildly bready and delicately nutty cara-malty aroma with yeasty spice and a touch of herbal hops. Bitter-sweet flavour, quite light bodied with an almost tame carbonation (ungespundet). Dry-ish, mildly bready malty taste with notes of caramel and a herbal hoppy blend, slightly chalky mouthfeel; dry, moderately bitter and delicately sweet finish with herbal hoppy spice. Could be better balanced, still likeable. 10.III.14

Bottle. Pours cloudy orange amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of yeast, malt, and hops. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with estery notes and sparse touches of malt. Rough, estery finish, with notes of cardboard. Not bad but nothing really illuminating, either.

The bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass quite zippy, nice creamy head. Starts intense malty, modest dry, a bit wheaty-yeasty, modest sourish. More and more spicy. Finish well balanced, dominated by malty notes. Quite drinkable. I liked it!
