Our Köstritzer cellar beer is an unfiltered, bottom-fermented beer specialty for real connoisseurs. Full-bodied and with natural turbidity, the original taste of the old brewing tradition was preserved with this beer. The best raw materials such as a special roasted malt, special malts and selected hops give the beer specialty from Köstritzer not only its unique aroma, but also its characteristic look.

(Keg at Black Door, 20140625) The beer poured deep amber and a little bit hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass, grain and mildly malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, grass, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, malty and bitter. Aroma was from a kellerbier and the taste was from a poor dunkel. A confusing and displeasing brew.

Bottle. Cloudy orange, golden creamy head. Leafy hop, light straw malt aroma. Medium light body, metallic grassy base, light fruity play, clayish yeast finish, leafy hop finish. A bit tinny kellerpils.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks troubles. Slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of some grassy hops, vegetal notes and graininess. Sweetish flavor, a bit grainy, a bit bready, with a vegetal hints and some grassy hops in a bitterish finish. Medium-bodied.

Bottle:Light copper coloured, almost clear, small creamy head; delicate fruity-grainy nose, mild and very mild traces of yeast and medical hops; light sweet-bitter flavour, soft, barely medium bodied; delicate bitter-hoppy traces in the grainy and - presumably - yeasty finish. Nothing wrong with it, but very unspectacular...

0,5 l bottle. Unclear orange in the glass, nice foamy head. Citrus malty on the nose. Starts malty with light sourness. In the middle grainy spicy, mid herb. Later dusty roasted malt, little bit of caramell. Not a typical Kellerbier as expected, but a lot of taste for an industrial beer.
