A decent English bitter. No more, no less. Should be easy drinking and not too sweet.

Cask at the 30th Chappel Beer Festival. Pours copper colour with a lasting frothy white head. Light fruity aroma with a touch of malt. Medium/high sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, oily texture. Finish is sweet, caramel/malt. Ok, but too sweet.

GraviCask at Camra’s National Winter Ales Festival. Shared with Finn. Near clear dark golden body. Spotty lacing. Smell of grassy hops, mid-dry. The taste profile has got moments of dried fruits, bread and grass followed by a bittersweet end. Easy to drink. Just alright (Derby 19.02.2016).

Cask at the Purple Turtle, Reading. Enjoyed whilst chilling with friends on the terrace in the surprisingly hot spring sunshine. Pale amber with a moderate white head and a light sparkle. Lemony hops overlay warm friendly malts with a hint of pepper. Simple, but mellow and well balanced. Somehow it’s a very welcoming and relaxing beer that reminds me of many of the beers from XT brewery. Nice one.
