Carrots & Sticks is a collaborative beer between Casita Cerveceria and Jackie O’s, that has been in the works since early 2015. It is a strong Belgian blond base beer that was brewed with walnuts, raisins, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and lemon zest. Fermented with Nordic Kveik yeast and carrot puree, the beer was then laid to rest for 14 months in fresh bourbon barrels, and then conditioned on vanilla beans.

Bottle, 0.357l. Aroma of coconut, vanilla, barnyard, caramel, carrot, yeast and dried fruit. Pours cloudy ruby brown color with thin quickly diminishing tan-like head, floating carrot purée particles and sparkling appearance. Taste starts with sweet toasted malt, nuts and vanilla, following is dried fruity and woody with prominent bourbon note, mouthfeel is smooth, warm and spicy, while finish is medium bitter. Full body, syrupy texture and lively carbonation in palate. Brutally boozy carrots...

Keg at brewdog agm 2019... Murky brown.. Thin tan lacing.. Soft sweet caramel funk.. Woody malts nose.. Soft sweet toffee.. Sweet nutty fruits... It's alcohol carrot cake.. Bit too boozy

Keg at the brewdog agm. Pours murky orange, nose is vanilla, cream, cinnamon, caramel, taste is similar, quite reminiscent of carrot cake.

On draught at Pies & Pints Worthington. The beer is a cloudy ruddy brown color with a medium thin light beige head that recedes quickly to a film. Small patches of lace. Aroma of dark fruits, spice, nuts and vanilla. Full-bodied with flavors of cake spices, raisin, vanilla, bourbon, malt and roasted nuts. The finish is frosted nutty boozy carrot cake and malt. Good beer all around.

4 oz. draft at EBF, Boston. Saturday Night session. A lot going on in here. Orange, spices, lemon peel, clove, and then of course the booze. This is entirely too busy. Doesn’t mesh together well at all.

Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong camdi sugar, yeast, vanilla, booze, wood. Slick body, similar flavors to nose, dont get much carrot, boozy finish, very good.
