Porter from this microbrewery in the north of Spain - one I never actually heard of, until I came across this one online somewhere. Foamy and thickly mousy, yellowish beige, largely stable head on a very dark chestnut brown beer, as good as black, with mahogany edges. Aroma of dried blackberries, stewed pear, brown bread dough, freshly cut red apple, tea, dried orange peel, black radish, fresh sour cream, walnuts, sawdust, fresh fig, plum, hint of fried tomato. Sweetish onset with sourish edge, fruity with hints of pear, red apple, prune and raisin, medium carbonated with smooth mouthfeel. Toasted walnut- and soggy brown bread-like malt body with those fruity notes lingering about, tad powdery in the end with coffee-ish roastiness but also a deeper hint of black chocolate. The sourish streak continues but in a non-obnoxious way, all the way up to the bittering, malty finish where herbal hops meet a 'diluted' black chocolate effect and remnants of that roasty aspect, as well as some light bready yeastiness. Enjoyable enough, if a tad 'untidy' - needs less yeastiness and more cleanness. Still a decent find, though.

Very dark brown with thin creamy head. Aroma has sweet malts and floral notes. Quite smooth and oily. Light milk chocolate. Slight roasted taste in the finish.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 20A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L18056 (BBF 12/19). AROMA: initial medium sulphury aroma, giving way to medium-low oxidized hops (cheese). low roasted malt background with a cocoa character. APPEARANCE: dark brown colour with ruby body against light. medium light brown head with medium-low retention. TASTE: medium-low malt presence with initial biscuity and some chocolate character. medium bitterness with a dry finish with hints of coffee. PALATE: medium-light body with medium-low carbonation. OVERALL: an american porter with some formulation problems (and also execution), that makes it more similar to a brown ale.

Botella 33 Cl en el Kraken 15..01..2019 cata rondadora!!. (r06). Color negro con espuma beige. Sabores a Porter pero algo aguados y diluidos. Suaves cebada y cereales algo húmedos tostados. Suaves torrefacto y café. Cuerpo ligero a medio fácil de beber con poca densidad que se bebe fácilmente. Así con todo es más menos fina en boca y según va calentando aumenta ligeramente en sabores. Porter suave cilla, refrescante. Normal
