Rerate 8.6.24 - etwas hoch genommen, lecker Ding. Sehr malzig. 19.10.20 (3,7) Tolle rote Farbe, passt zum Namen, sogar der Schaum ist leicht rötlich. In der Nase und Trunk deutlich Karamell, sehr süffig, feinalkoholisch, gefährlich gut trinkbar.

Bottle @ Home. Pours clear very dark brown with a creamy tan head, light lacings. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, wood, bread, some dried dark fruit. Flavor is rather sweet, malty, caramel, bread, dried fruit, little alcohol. Medium body, soft to average carbonation, sweet finish. 140319

500ml Bottle - Dark brown with red tinges and a foamy head. Raisins, spice and hints of orange peel in the aroma. Malty and fairly sweet taste with caramel, raisins and dates standing out. The Saphir hops are not playing much of a role here and are drowned out in such a dark and sweet beer.

Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass darker than exspected, nice head. Malty-roasty aroma. Starts strong, malty, roasty, sweetish, hints of caramet. Also some woody notes. Finish warming-malty, but too unbalanced. Okay.

“Veldensteiner Saphir-Bock“, Flasche (50 cl) von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin-Wedding, 19.1.2018. - Tiefes Rotbraun, klar. - In der Nase würziges dunkles und Toastmalz, Trockenobst (Pflaume), noch angenehme zart fuselige Note. - Antrunk warm dunkelmalzig mit reichen Melanoidinen: Brotkruste, Rosinen, Waldbeeren, Bayrisch Blockmalz. Eine milde, nicht besonders kräftige aber angenehm blumig-fruchtige Hopfenherbe setzt das nötige Gegengewicht. Dezente karamellige Malzsüße. Milder rezent, vollmundig aber nicht breit, leicht trocken. Im Abgang milder aber gediegen aromatischer Hopfen mit leicht zitrusfruchtigen und hopfenwürzigen Aromen. Im Nachtrunk schwächer mit feuchter Pappe, die den Einsatz von Hopfenextrakt verrät. - Angenehm schlanker, schön dunkelmalziger Bock mit dezenter aber aromatischer Hopfung. Der Saphir-Einsatz fällt dezenter aus als erwartet; dennoch mehr als trinkbar.

Buegelveršlusflaše: Clear, ruby-amber coloured, slowly collapsing loose off-white head; distinctive sweet nose of toasted malt, dried fruits and caramel with a tinge of bread-crusts, hops barely detectable; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied; drier and " hoppier" bitter-sweet finish with aromas of caramel and dark malt; warming alcohol in the aftertaste. Quite sweet in the beginning, but all in all a pleasant and well drinkable Dvojnásobný Kozel...😆

Hopfiger, rund malziger Antrunk. Würzig, milde Süße, spritzig. Der Hopfen ist ab dem Mittelteil nicht mehr erkennbar. Nett, nicht besonders. 10/8/9/9/9/9

(swing top bottle) Clear, slightly ruby brown colour with a big and tanned foamy head. Sweet dark malty aroma with notes of caramel, chocolate and molasses, accompanied by hints of subtle fruity and spicy hops. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation. Cloying dark malt character with notes of molasses, caramel, traces of chocolate and a rather restrained hoppy touch; stickily sweet malty finish. Not very more-ish, missed the hoppy tang. 24.XI.16
