Krausen Lager

Bottle. A crystal clear deep golden colored beer with a small white head. Fruity, grassy aroma with some honey-ish malt and borderline diacetyl scents. A light floral touch too. It's a bit sweet on the palate, with a fruity, grassy and floral flavor. Honey and pale malts as a backdrop. Medium body and a very smooth mouthfeel. Grass, ripe pears, honey and a wee touch of caramelized malt in the finish. Too sweet this one, but it slides down very easily anyway. 191219

Bottle. It didn’t ring any bells with me, this clear, pale golden one with a small white head. Grain, hay, grass and malt in the aroma. The flavor has malt, hay, grass and some hops. Medium to thin body and a finish with malt and hay. It is refreshing and drinkable indeed, but nothing more. (070427)

On draught (in the Kraus-Garden in Hirschaid): Golden coloured, thin but lasting head; slightly sweetish malty nose with some hints of fruitiness (grains) and traces of hops from very far away; sweetish, malty start; light but distinctive hoppy-bitter aftertaste; creamy texture, low carbonation = typical franconian Lager.....well quaffable

50cl. Smooth mild and slightly grainy beginning. Easy to drink, sessionable with a soft and slightly smooth texture. Very nice with a grainy and moderate bitter ending, sessionable and round.

Flaska från Landbierparadis. Söt för stilen och grainy med mycket kolasmaker, söta gula plommon och honung. Blir lite obalanserad men annars gott.

Bottle from Landbierparadies. Clear golden colour, white foam. Rather grainy with sweet malty hints, easy drinkable, not a lot of bitterness.

500mml. Bottle as part of the «Summer Secret Santa 2018», many thanks to the Beerhunter for this one. Tasted on the 04/08/2018. Clear yellow colour with a medium, fluffy and white head. Aroma is straw, bread, cereals and slightly banana. Taste is somehow weak, with touches of straw, citrics, sweet malts and a light touch of banana. Finish is slightly sweet. Medium carbonation. Next one please!

Bottle of Krausen Lager from Brauerei Kraus shared with TO on board Baluba 16.05.18. Clear golden. White head and lacing. Aroma and taste of pilsner malt, grass and Geman hops. Medium low bitterness. Slightly fruity.

500ml Bottle - Golden with a foamy head. Bready and grainy aroma with notes of hay standing out. Malty and slightly sweet taste with grain, white bread and a faint hint of tea.

Tap in Krug. Creamy golden head. Herbal, mineral nose. A hint butter, cake malt, a bit licorice, nice.

Served in a stein, looks Ok. Aroma is caramel, licorice, some toffee, grass. Taste is malty sweetness, some hoppy bitterness. A little oily. Heavy. Not bad.
