(swing top bottle, purchased at the brewery) Almost clear, amber colour with a massive and slightly tanned foamy head. Slightly sweet smoked malty nose with subtle fruity touch. Light-bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Solid malty and moderately smoked taste with a light touch of caramel; malty and subtle fruity finish with a light bitterness and a soft smoky touch in the aftertaste (12.09.07).

Draught at the brewpub. Clear brownish amber, small head. Lightly soapy, perfumy roasty malt aroma. Pleasant fresh grassy hops provides spice to a vital, rounded mid-sized body. Some vague smoke adds complexity. Long salty bitterness. Modest, but very good.

Bügelverschlußflasche: Deep golden to light amber coloured, creamy, slowly diminishing and lacing white head, sweetish, honeyish and malty nose with minor traces of smoke in the background - especially detectable when the Bier gets warmer -, moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; robust bitter-sweet finish with a mild, but distinctive touch of hops. A weel crafted, "light" Rauchbier.........

Bottled (BB 02/2007). Dark nut brown, small creamy beige head. Malty, slightly smokey aroma. Rye bready malty flavor with some grassy hops: Good smokey malty aftertaste. Balanced "light" rauchbier where smoke holds long in the aftertaste.
