Cask at Waterloo Tap. Opaque cola brown. Foamy beige head. Aroma has cacao and cream with light berries. Although I am stood outside and it's a wind tunnel! Flavourwise there's an initial coffee berry sourness followed by creamy cacao heavy mocha. Underlying chewy malts. Medium bodied. Creamy to oily. Soft lazily fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Good stuff.

Handpull cask at the Queens Road Tap, Leicester. Dark brown with a thick khaki head. Massive aroma of roast malt, some treacle, salted caramel. Lush. Complex taste with a sweet maltiness to start, followed by a deft bitter turn and overlaid with a salty almost umami character. Body is a bit light and flat, but otherwise just incredible.

(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 9 May 2024) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, milky coffee and dark bread. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, coffee, dark bread, liquorice and a balanced roasty bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Smooth, tasty and well made stout. Very nice.
