American IPA Amarillo

This is our interpretation of a West Coast where Vermont yeast has been used instead of the classic Californian neutral yeast. Produced with malt Pils that gives the beer a golden color. The exclusive use of Amarillo hops gives it intense notes of grapefruit and the strong bitterness is balanced by the softness of the yeast.

Bottle by the pool in Susafa, Sicilian Mountains, 5th August 2020. Pours light straw colour and clear. Aroma is bitter grapefruit, pithy citrus. Taste is grapefruit, pith, bitter, refreshing and floral. Lingering bitter pithy finish. Lovely IPA

Tap at So Good in Rome. Clear ancient golden pour with a medium-low ivory foam. Nose: ripped fruity aroma, malty overall, mostly fruity aroma. Mouth is a bit old school, clean (Hammer), a bit of a warming alcohol feel, firm grassy bitterness.

On tap @Ma che siete venuti a fà (Rome). Dorata carica, appena torbida, schiuma bianca media discretamente persistente. Al naso sentori di pompelmo, erbaceo, malto, resina. In bocca ha un attacco di malto importante con amaro lungo e persistente, leggera radice. Corpo medio-alto, carbonazione media. Birra amarcord, un po' (volutamente) old style ma buona.
