Bursting with Citra hop flavor and tropical, citrusy notes, this incredibly approachable pale ale packs the hop punch of an IPA twice its size.

I recently tried Furious for the first time in 10 years and was surprised to learn I don’t like it much anymore, too big too chewy. Why do I mention that here instead of re-rating? Mainly because I don’t feel like but also to emphasize how much more I liked this one. (side note, what ridiculous nonsense is it to call this an English Pale Ale or Bitter, it has nothing at all to do with that style, not even the slightest little bit). Well this is a great hoppy pale, big citrus nose and flavors, nice balanced palate with dry clean malts, lightly bready, medium bitter finish. Plenty of good citrus and floral notes. Nice cloudy golden color. New England IPA-ish in a sense.

Lots of orange and a good malt backbone. Pours golden with decent head. Bitter finish. Nice balance. Not quite English like the Transatlantic accent. Tap at Meridian Pint.

16oz can. Really not an English Pale Ale, as that might utilize English malts, English hops. I guess I’m glad it didn’t get categorized as a Session IPA. Its a friggin Pale Ale, and an excellent one at that. Juicy fresh citra aroma, booming tropical and bright. Crackery thin golden malts. Hyper sessionable, with lots of awesome Citra character. No deep green onion or garlic, all light tropical awesomeness. Word Class.

Tall boy canned 07/07/16. hazy gold, 1 finger head with some lacing left behind that fades fast. smells good but certainly not the brightness I had hoped. a little cheesy, hay, grass, wheat. Light with oatmeal flavor and a table sugar-esque finish. very drinkable but the english maltiness really wears on me . just not my kind of style.

Can. A- Tropical fruit, pineapple, guava, mango, papaya, passion fruit, juicy, citrus. A- Yellow color, slightly hazy liquid, white head. T- Subtle bitterness, tropical fruits, slightly dank grass. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- My dumb ass decided to buy this beer quite fresh with only a month of age and for some reason forget about it until four months later. While it wasn’t as fresh as I would’ve liked it was still downright delicious. Bursting with tropical fruits on the nose and palate, a perfect balance showcasing Citra. Now I need another to enjoy properly, fresh. Very good.

Pint draft at Surly Brewing Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The pour is mostly clear golden with a one inch well formed off white head. The aroma is floral, citrus hops with a nice backbone of cracker malt. The taste is mostly about the Citra hops - big bright lemon citrus fruit and peel, along with floral, bit of grass and the clean cracker malt holding up the bottom. The palate is light bodied with active carbonation and a bitter mineral finish. Tasty, easy drinking Pale Ale.
