Ze ziet er misschien duister uit, maar schijn bedriegt: Philipa is fris en hoppig. Toch heeft ze behalve haar kleur nog een donker kantje: de typische hoptoetsen van een IPA worden ondersteund door een likje karamel.

Pours a darker brown. Big, rising tanned head. Scent is roasty, chocolate, mild yet recognizable hoppy touch. Taste is sharp, metallic almost. Roasty, towards ashy even. Mild hops. Really doesn't work well together, honestly.

Huge cream-tan head over black beer with purplish highlights. Dry hopbales, bit dark candi sugar, ashy and of course citrussy hops. Dry-ish, seriously roasted caramel, roast, almost as if in Maillard. Hops, but almost no hoppy bitterness. The MF betrays the oats, as the nose betrays the candi sugar. OK, but I've had better BIPA's. The oats form a good addition. Thanks to Stef!
