This golden ale carries notes of passion fruit and honey in the aroma. A suggestion of biscuit is found in the beer’s varied palate. Brewed with our 2-row barley blend, hopped with Nugget and Hallertau, then fermented on our house yeast, Tripel offers up a complex, yet dry finish.

Saftig i smaken utan originalets mer komplexa smak. Eldig men ändå relativt kort eftersmak. Typisk wannabe-försök av jänkare men långt från de belgiska förlagorna.

Thin foamy white head soon left a spotty cover on an unclear light amber coloured body. Spiced, coriander, sweet citrus & peppery aroma. Medium bodied, tingly & smooth in the back. Yeasty, spiced, banana & sweet citrus tastes with a long peppery hoppy finish. Tripel is my favourite style. This is truly am excellent one but as a critique I would say it's slightly sweeter than the Belgian classics & the head is pathetic. Overall though - First Class!

Bottle ordered from A Hoppy Place, Windsor. As just 'Tripel'. Sweet yeasty aroma - makes me think of a Hefe: banana and cloves. Light gold. Foamy translucent white head. Light-medium bitter. Grainy. Boozy. Spice. A sour fruity citrus edge. Underlying honey nutty sweetness. Light bodied. Slick if thin. Prickly fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. It's decent if not overly memorable.

Bottle at home, from HOTM online, 16/02/21. Had this 1.4K rates beer in a restaurant in the states in the late noughties ... took till now to catch up with it! Moderately hazed golden orange with a well presented, lasting, just off white cap. Nose is Belgian yeast esters, candied fruit rinds, stewed fruits, light spice, grains. Taste comprises stewed fruits, caramel, candy peel, yeast esters, light white peppery spice, prunes, straw, grains, soft malts, light booze tunes. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a suggestion of alcohol. Solid exponent of the style ... one I don't normally seek out. Good balance, a little boosty buzz and never too sweet, which is what often puts me of a Tripel.

Bottle. Beer Stop, Dronfield. Hazed straw gold. Fine, dense white head. Nose has honeyed grain. Stewed fruit. Banana bread. Flowery hop leaf. Taste is rich and sweet initially. Turns yeasty and dry bitter. Super smooth mouthfeel. A little slick. Fine carbonation. Spicy hop bitterness to finish.

From a 355ml bottle on 1/12021 (simply labelled Allagash Tripel). Pours a slightly opaque light golden with a small head. Has a light spicy, typical Belgian yeasty aroma. Taste wise, it's very smooth and easy drinking for the size - you get sweet fruit, spice, wood, a little banana/clove and a honeyed, slightly yeasty finish. The mouthfeel is a touch slick the carbonation average. A very nice, well balanced big Belgian ale.
