Pouring a thick, hazy golden yellow, Death Mettle opens with concentrated aromas of juicy mango, pineapple, orange zest, and mixed stone fruit. Full-bodied, extremely tropical, and plush on the palate, this beer is built to satisfy the most chilling of hop cravings.

Fresh can drunk 5/22/21. Thick, almost muddy body is green-tinted brass-bronze with a small, white head that dissipates rather steadily. Some light alcohol and a hint of how twang in the nose, but it's mostly cleaned up at this point (I don't remember the exact canning date, but it was a few weeks old). Big cannabis and tropical fruit exchanges in the nose with plentiful honey-like malts balancing. Watermelon and grapefruit in the mix ending on light house yeast character. Soft, rich, sweet and intensely tropical with plentiful citrus, as well. Rich honey-like malt character, chewy texture and low carbonation with a thick body and moderate to assertive hop bitterness/acidity. Quite nice, but I think a lot of these huge IIIPAs tend to run together a bit flavor-wise. Lots of malt and the hop notes quickly homogenize. But no issues here as far as astringency/acidity/aspirin/hop twang/booziness, so that's good.

16 oz can from Brendan, thanks man! Canned 10/1/20, consumed 11/5/20. Pours a fully cloudy yellow color without much head or lace. The aroma is big on mangonion hops, orange, peach, and grapefruit coming through as well. Drinks on the green side, some moderate sweetness, light alcohol on the finish, but fairly well hidden for a 10/2% beer. Tasty.

Boozy, sweet, 🔥🔥🔥comes and goes. Figured following up a Masshole double with a Masshole tripel made sense, beer does not disappoint. Made Thursday's lunch, if I'm going to be up til 3am, may as well be productive.

Pours a very hazy, orange-banana color, not unlike an orange Julius or banana smoothie. Minimal head. Aroma has some chalk and a touch of booze to it, along with strong citrus and tropical fruit notes. Flavor is citrus and tropical fruit, with the aforementioned chalk and booze notes (unfortunate). Very smooth on the plate, with a light sweetness, but finishes with an alcohol burn.

Citrus, not cloying in the sweetness, booze is hidden, nice balanced bitterness. Surprisingly good.

5-oz. taster pour on tap at the Canton brewery. Appearance is opaque, dark lemon chiffon yellow (like dark grapefruit juice) with no sparkle, finger-width foamy white head, trace lacing. Aroma is very strong and very good tropical fruit, citrus, grapefruit and faint herbal tinge. Taste follows aroma exactly. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with thick, granular texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, not hugely complex but if you're looking for the quintessential tropical fruit, grapefruit, citrus NEIPA experience, this is up there with anything from Tree House, etc.
