The newest member of our Mettle group is Death Mettle a Triple IPA in a devilishly drinkable disguise. Combining the hop bills of both Mettle and Heavy Mettle, we've created this intensely hop-saturated experience to pair perfectly with the ghosts and goblins of Halloween.

Pouring a thick, hazy golden yellow, Death Mettle opens with concentrated aromas of juicy mango, pineapple, orange zest, and mixed stone fruit. Full-bodied, extremely tropical, and plush on the palate, this beer is built to satisfy the most chilling of hop cravings.

Panda thanks to Wingman. Hazy orange gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, decent fine carbonation coming through late on. Smooth and mildly dry creamy sweet malts. Smooth pine and mild hop spice. Fair amount of Galaxy juiciness here. Savoury skunk underpins. Airy and semi dry finish. Good but it doesn't blow me away like Trillium of old. Not sure if that is me or if other brewers have caught up and passed em. Still a very solid brew.

Panda at home, thanks to The Wingmane, 29/01/2025.
Murky orange topped with a white cap that thins to a swirl.
Nose is ripe tropical fruits, weed, dank chimes, grass, raw pineapple, lychee.
Taste comprises bitter orange, grapefruit, hop spice, pine resin, dank bite, guava.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with juicy come resinous hop bitterness allied to a light boost.
Solid TIPA ... good bitter sweet balance.

Tap at Ale Arsenal. Pours a densely hazed sunset orange with off white massive pineapple aroma with all tropics in reserve. Overt pineapple, tropics and rind flavor. So good.

Pours a lovely opaque hazy golden orange from a can. Nice big tropical fruit/orange smoothie aroma, similar flavor, unctuous in a positive sense. Feels big in the mouth but then has a weird transition to a surprisingly bitter finish, it's not bad I just feel like it's not smooth. Very good beer.

From a 473ml can on 5/3/2023. Pours a murky medium golden with a smallish head. Has a strong citrus/tropical fruit nose with some green and herbal notes. It’s bold and intense on the sip - sweet citrus dominating but with touches of melon, mango and grape also in the mix. Has a really firm bitterness, which is spicy, tangy, herbal and lingering with a hint of grapefruit in the background. Has a silky, almost creamy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Challenging, complex and truly excellent.

Fresh can drunk 5/22/21. Thick, almost muddy body is green-tinted brass-bronze with a small, white head that dissipates rather steadily. Some light alcohol and a hint of how twang in the nose, but it's mostly cleaned up at this point (I don't remember the exact canning date, but it was a few weeks old). Big cannabis and tropical fruit exchanges in the nose with plentiful honey-like malts balancing. Watermelon and grapefruit in the mix ending on light house yeast character. Soft, rich, sweet and intensely tropical with plentiful citrus, as well. Rich honey-like malt character, chewy texture and low carbonation with a thick body and moderate to assertive hop bitterness/acidity. Quite nice, but I think a lot of these huge IIIPAs tend to run together a bit flavor-wise. Lots of malt and the hop notes quickly homogenize. But no issues here as far as astringency/acidity/aspirin/hop twang/booziness, so that's good.
