This is the first beer for the 2020 Advocator Membership. Salutations is an Imperial Stout treated with toasted pistachios and Ugandan vanilla beans. The distinct pistachios lingers as the sweet vanilla imperial stout provides a custardy base beer.

On tap at Mikkeller & Friends, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is full of rich pistachios, dark sugars, moderate roast, and bourbon barrels. Flavour is less obviously expressive of the pistachios, with dark sugars, moderate roast, and some bourbon barrels. The nuts are much more aromatic; the flavour is more just great dark malts, sugars, and barrels. Excellent.

On tap at Mikkeller & Friends. Pours black with a beige head. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, vanilla, and a bit of pistachios on the nose. Flavour has rich dark malts and dark chocolate, vanilla; boozy finish. Very nice.

Tap @ Mikkeller, Stefansgade. Black with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, cocoa and heavy vanilla. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet finish with warming alcohol. Oily and soft. 220525

Tap @Mikkeller&Friends. Black, beige head. Rich malty aroma, nuts, vanilla. Rich dark malty flavour, roasted, lovely boozy warmth.

Draft. Black beer with a tan head. Chocolate aroma. Chocolate and vanilla flavor with nuttiness. Medium-plus bodied. Chocolate and vanilla linger with nuttiness.

Pours a dark, cola black, with minimal head. Aroma has notes of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, nuts. Flavor is chocolate, vanilla, nuts, some anise/licorice. It has some sweetness to it. Mouthfeel is maybe a bit on the thin side for a stout. Not bad by any means. Bottle and crowler.
