Draft at Paragon, 10/16/25. Darker brown color with a thin head. Strong coffee, roast aroma. Coffee, malt forward flavor. A little dry. Flavorful. Good stuff.

We’re back after a brief hiatus due to a combination of hockey, and contracting the Gasper AIDS. A dreary and damp fall day seemed the appropriate time to crack this. Lot of black coffee, little cream on the finish. Very nice.

Refrigerated 0.5 L bottle poured into a glass mug. Black with beige head. Aroma is coffee, medium body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is coffee and dark malt. Fresher would likely be a little better, but I suspect it won’t change that much.

Bottled. Foamy brown pour. Mostly Coffee but not too strong, nutty malt and such. A nice stout.

Bottle at Miro's Grande. Black with beige head. Roasty, chocolate, coffee, cocoa, some sweetness, somewhat watery. Medium bodied.

0,75l bottle at Miros bday tasting, Zagreb. Black color, small tan head. smells lactose, spices, coffee, nutty. Nice smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes grassy, coffee, nutty, spices. finishes lightly roasty bitter with notes of coffee, nutty and spices. Nice one overall

Draught @ Melzingah Tap House, Beacon (Oct 2023). Inky black with a small foamy dark beige head, caramel aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter caramel, burnt malt, faint coffee flavor, thin smooth body, long coffee-caramel finish. Well balanced smooth stout.

On tap at The Beer Temple, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma is dry, with earthy coffee and medium roast. Flavour is dry and hearty, with lots of medium roast, earthy coffee, and a touch of cocoa. Earthy, medium roasty and a touch of sweetness on the finish. Very good.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice, three to four centimetre tall tan head that stays afloat for a long time and leaves a subtle lace on the sides. Aroma of roasted malt, oatmeal, light grain, caramelised sugars and a touch of lactose, but nice and deep throughout the nose. Medium-bodied; Strong rich nutty and vanilla flavours show at first with a deep sweet and caramely bite soon afterwards with a touch of dry oatmeal noticeable and lactose at the end, but pretty nutty and rustic towards the end. Aftertaste shows some dry, grainy and oaty flavours with some molasses, cream, vanilla, lactose and very light brewed coffee notes as well, but relatively easy-drinking throughout. Overall, a pretty nice and relatively straight-forward beer with some nice flavours and not much complexity, but easy-going while still flavoured pretty heavily. I sampled this 500 mL bottle purchased from Connecticut Avenue Wine & Liqour in Washington (DuPont), DC on 11-July-2022 for US$7,99, bottled on 14-September-2021 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 23-February-2023.
