330 ml bottle. Deep amber body with a big, lacing tan head. Aroma has caramel malt, bread, toast and dry fruit. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, toast and pleasant bitterness. Fine and balanced body with a sweet and slightly bitter aftertaste. A pretty solid bock, even if I’m not too found in this beer style.

Clear dark copper, thick offwhite froth. Bready, malty aroma, some caramel. Similar flavour plus dark sugar and notes of dried fruit and roast. Finish has hints of glue, otherwise a little light beneath all the caramel. Ok.

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, ruby brown colour with a medium-sized and slightly tanned foamy head. Mildly toasted malty and caramel-laden aroma with notes of Bavarian Blockmalz and shades of smoked ham in the background. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation. Dark malt character with present notes of caramel and bready accents, leading into a sweet and delicately bitter finish with notes of caramel and a whiff of chocolate at the very end. Decent. 20.IX.15

Big beige head. Clear brown body with strong carbonation. Syrupy toasted sugar and earth aroma with spicy cinnamon notes. Sweetish syrupy spicy toasted sugar taste with caramel and cinnamon notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish earthy sugary molasses aftertaste with candy, cocoa and spice notes. Really interesting beer. Not sure how they did it, but very interesting. (0.33l bottle, from wine monopoly, Strømmen.)

330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Looks very nice in the glass with a clear amber coloured body added by a deep ruby tint. A slowly diminishing bubbly, beige head blanketing the glassware. Caramel upfront on the nose, hints of bread and earth. The taste profile is also dominated by mid-sweet caramel malts supported by nuts and dried fruity endnotes. Slightly roasted. Medium bodied. An enjoying caramel ale (Tromsø 04.08.2015).

Bottle. A clear, dark amber colored beer topped by a dense, finger-thick beige head. Weak malty aroma with caramel and a generic dried fruit touch. Some baked apples in the far back. It’s full-bodied, soft and rather dry on the palate, with flavors of caramel and dried fruits. Decent bitterness too, handling the sweetness well. Lasting finish. A boring, clean doppelbock lacking on complexity. 150725
