This limited-edition winter brew will make its debut in October, but this winter celebration ale is worth the wait. Malted barley and chocolate tones define the traditional style, while the robust aroma and long, mellow finish will make this the perfect companion for your holiday adventures.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.7%. Deep ruby colour, large beige head. Malty aroma, notes of bakery, caramel and brown bread. Malty flavour too, moderately sweet, notes of caramel, Danish pastry and brown bread, hints of chocolate. Modest hops, as expected from the style. This is more of a Dark Bock than a Doppelbock, though. Nice to drink, whatever you call it.

Bottle. Pours clear dark brown - almost black with medium offwhite head. Aroma is malt, rye bread (øllebrød), malt syrup and prunes. Taste is very sweet, light bitter and light acidic. Body is oily with fizzy carbonation. Finish is medum long and mostly sweet with notes of malt, rye, milk chocolate and bread.

From bottle at my parents’ place 24.12.19. Mahogany. Beige head and lacing. Clean doppelbock aroma, with roasted malt, dark syrup and moderate bitterness. Good and very drinkable!

Shared at a tasting, small stable bubbly off white head, quite clear dark red color with some lighter hues, dark fruit and biscuit aroma, the fruits just a touch stewed, same traits in flavor with some alcohol and the stewed character, stronger. Fair, not too exciting.

Bottle sample at a tasting at troubles' place. Thanks tomer. Deep amber. Malt, caramel, oxidation, some dark fruits, sweet, a bit of cardboard, some alcohol, medium-bodied. Not my thing.

Bottle courtesy of Juden from Iceland, cheers you Jude. Consumed at home Thursday 28th February 2019 after a couple of hours of fitting a drawer fridge and now cooking a Spaghetti Bolognese and listening to Marc Riley on 6 Music. Pours amber with a large but swiftly departing head. Malty, nice softness, a little grubby chocolate, really enjoying this.
