This version of New Frontier is special because it uses 90% Vienna malt, a delicate malt that is easily overshadowed when used in other styles. Pairing it with lager yeast in this lightly hopped Vienna Lager allows the nuances of the malt to take center stage, creating flavors that give a sweet impression like warm bread, honey, almond, and even light toffee. The lager yeast creates a crisp and dry finish, preventing the beer from tasting sweet, while the hops lend a nice background herbal note.

While this iteration of New Frontier is a departure from those before it, it has raised the bar for high quality lagers for us and pushes us to explore new directions of lager brewing!
Naming: Our original release of New Frontier was a journey into new territory: lager. From there we now look to branch out into yet more untravelled paths, changing hops, malt, and yeast as we continue the journey to find the perfect lager.

light amber color. Frothy white head. Big minerally and strawberries in the nose. Excellent caramel malt, mineral and some bready malt character. Very clean and great depth. Modest bitterness. Very nice take on the style. I like this.

Can. Pours a deep orange amber, almost clear, quite effervescent, with a low head. Nice toasted malt nose, nutty, light caramel, light grapes and apple, toasted dark bread. Malt is somewhat sweet, rich, bready, some caramel, apple, grass, touch of citrus. Rich malt character is quite nice. Body is relatively light but smooth and silky. Good stuff.

Lovely stuff, the best so far maybe. Good lager character with pleasant hoppiness but that caramel maltiness there too.

KBC New Frontier Vienna Lager 5% This brew is golden orange with a light beige but dense head of foam and has a lovely biscuity and toasted malt aroma. Medium bodied with a crisp finish. This gives loves of delicious malt notes with a honey finish. This is gonna be a great lager for fall.
