Time travel in a glass? Maybe, but we hope you will enjoy the visit to the past to savour a turn-of-the-century ale. This ain’t your parents IPA, but it just might be your grandparent’s (or great grandparent’s). It’s nice to think the old head can still kick it with the younger IPAs.

On cask at Main Street, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is fairly neutral, with soft bready malt, maybe a touch of bittering hops. Flavour has some gently bitter hops, with a soft biscuity malt base. Clean and easy, with some more hops than is typical for an English cask ale, but still not very interesting.

Okay cloudy gold and some modest creamy foam. Smells of way too faint hops and some weak sweetness. Taste is nice chewy hops, soft pine, ends full and smooth. A little mellow but a relaxing IPA.
