Far and away the best beer I had today at Apollon Platebar. Served in a mini-Teku looking glass, it presented coal black with an attractive ring of tan foam. The nose was nice with vanilla, coffee, chocolate and baked bread. The taste surpassed that, berries, more of the vanilla, cereal, caramel, cane syrup and sorghum. Actually the best beer of my entire trip.

Can at home. Opaque black color, beige head. Aroma and flavor are malts, sweetness, very very pastry stout sweetness. Not sure what else to tell about this. Meh

--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Black, small head. Huge vanilla aroma. Very sweet with full body and rounded, sticky moiuthfeel. Lots of syrup, lots of sticky vanilla, some coffee. Mild whisky in the sticky finish. Just over sweet.

Can. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of dark chocolate, whiskey, roasted malt, and coffee. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, whiskey, dark chocolate, and coffee, leading to a bitter finish.

ABV: 9.0%. Clear dark black colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, molasses, sweet malt, cake, moderate chocolate and coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, molasses, coffee, roasted, dusty coffee, chocolate - coffee. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming. [20211005]

Thuis uit een blikje. Heel donkerbruin, bijna zwart, bruin schuim. Aroma licht geroosterde koffie, mokka. Smaak vol, romig, koffie, vanille, chocolade. Goddelijk.

330ml. can. @home, 23/09/2021 [#4.237 Global - #125 Ireland - #7 White Hag] Very dark brown colour with a quickly dismishing small beige head. Aroma: roasted malts, whiskey barrels and hazelnuts. Taste: sharp and boozy irish whiskey, vanilla, hazelnuts and dark chocolate. Long roasty and warm finish. Next one please!

0,33 boks fra VP Herbarium, delt med KH en hyggelig kveld ved sjøkanten i østre bydel: en herlig dessertstout tydelig preget av sitt opphold på irkse whiskeyfat og den brasilianske kaffen som er tilsatt. Mørke karameller, feit sjokoladekake dynket med mørke bær og plommesyltetøy og drysset med brunsukker. Brunsvart med ok skum. Mersmak de luxe.
