24 February 2019. Wieze Bierfestival - cheers to Meeki, Ama Deke & the lovely Anke! Hazy brown-amberish with a lasting, thin, frothy, tan head. Aroma of candi sugar, toffee, licorice, green tea, peanuts, brioche, cookie dough, candied plum & banana. Taste is medium malty sweet, notes of caramel, estery banana & dough, with subtle fruity accents of raisin & plum; light to medium herbal bitter middle has green tea, cookie spices, licorice, faint metallic effect. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, lingering licorice, caramel & nuts, some warming liqueur-like alcohol which probably shouldn't be noticeable at this ABV. Medium body, slick/syrupy texture, fizzy carbonation. Inviting at first, needs some polishing and this could be a decent enough Belgian 'brown', though no game changer, of course.
