In bottle at the brewpub, after a 13 mile cycle ride along the Danube River from a campsite close to Bad Abbach. Saturday 3rd August 2019 the weather has perked up now hurrah. Very fruity and with a nice herbal and perfumey edge to it, good bitterness and really quite authentic.

Bottle from Birretta. Rich, malty, caramel and toffee nose with lots of cara-Munich, plus nice citrus and resiny hops. fresh and aromatic in an mixture of US old school and German craft kind of way. Lightly hazy amber orange with a low, thick head. Flavor is piny and resiny hops, caramel malt, sweet, orange and lemon, with a bitter, resiny finish. Is it well made? Yes, very much so, and fresh. But then again it's a GERman IPA wherein the malt shine but it would have been considered great in the US about 20 years ago. It's a nice beer, and the malt is of course richer and tastier than those 1990s US IPAs, but I'm wondering where this will really take us?

Gourmet-Flasche (Dank an Jonas!):Deep golden to orangey coloured, hazy, small and stable off-white head; mild to moderate fruity and piney nose with heavily subdued traces of sweet pale malt; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, relatively light bodied for a beer of 8%, but still pretty soft; slightly lingering, a bit more tart and slightly drier bitter-piney and malty finish. Well drinkable, but pretty inoffensive...
