Paradox Grain has been matured in ex bourbon whisky barrels. Wonderful oak notes complimented by smooth vanilla, rich treacle, stewed fruits and decadent chocolate.

On keg at Brewdog Lothian Road. It was in fact, Stuu666 birthday beer. Appearance - deep brown to black with a thin crema head. Nose - boozy, toffee, light raisin and nut. Taste - booze, prunes and raisins. Deep, dark chocolate. Palate - medium to full bodied. Light booze and roast. Overall - the nose is slightly elusive but much more going on in the taste.

Bottle thanks to cgarvieuk. Appearance - black and almost opaque. Beige thin head. Nose - molasses and light liquorice. Prunes and raisins. Taste - prunes and molasses. Wood and booze. Light smoke and molasses. Palate - rich and full bodied. Dry, roast finish. Overall - lovely beer that we appear to have opened at its peak.

On tap at BrewDog Seven Dials London Black beer lasting tan head. Dark chocolate cocoa aroma. Good dark chocolate. light paper character. espresso coffee. some molasses. but a dry molasses. intense flavours. lots of dark malt. some heat on the finish. Big intense sipper. heat on finish. decent.

150ml draught at Agenturet Øl og Vinbar. Shared with Finn. Fawn-coloured head, almost black in the glass, spotty lacing. Promising aromas of roasted chocolate malts. Powerful taste of dried fruits supported by dark chocolate and cocoa. Lingering and warming finish with a coffee twist. Full bodied. Nice slow sipper qualities. (Tromsø 16.02.2021).
