Belma is a new to us hop variety, and Maris Otter is one of our favorite base malts, so why not put them together in one room and see how they get along? Belma imparts overtones of a combination of peaches and plums, with some undertones of tropical fruits and strawberry. Maris Otter backs this up with a moderate flavor of toasted cracker. taster at brewery. Golden pour with a small frothy head. This was the sample that prompted me that soemthing was off, and the culprit was oxidation in the lines. Had the makings of a solid pale ale, spoiled by the unclean lines.
