Sigtuna Black Soil IPA är bryggt på pilsnermalt med en liten dos av karamellmalt och chokladvete för färgens skull. Ölet är torrhumlat med främst Citra och Centennial vilket ger ett friskt och aromatiskt öl. Doften är fruktig och humlearomatisk med inslag av grape, hallon och citrus. Smaken är kraftigt humlad med en bestämd beska och torr avslutning samt diskreta rostade toner.

Tap. Dark brown with beige head. Aroma is piney, chocolate, coffee, resinous. Taste is chocolate, piney, a bit grassy, mineralic finish with a resinous aftertaste. High carbonation. Very nice, just a bit too mineralic in the back.

Bottled (thanks Rönne!). Black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is hoppy. grassy, some toasted and liquorice notes. Flavour is floral, grassy, some toasted and roasted notes with quite much fruity notes too.

Dark, almost opaque ruby color, small steady beige head. Aroma has licorice, citrus and some medicinal notes. Medium-bodied. Toasted malts, licorice and grapefruity hops. A bit of coffee. Balanced CDA.

33cl bottle, thanks oh6gdx. The beer pours pitch black with a thin brown head. Aroma has citrusy hops, roastedness, some licorice. Roasted malty, fruity hops, some licorice in flavor. Some malty sweet perhaps. Nice bitterness. Pleasant, quite robust.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, nutty brown with an off-white head. Rather sophisticated, almost perfumy hop aroma with the hops really downplayed. Medium body, slightly sweet yet with the roast giving some sort of balance and all the way still pleasant aromatic hops. A super well-composed and quaffable Black IPA. 220217

Bottle from systembolaget. Pours with a small disappearing foam. Has a relatively strong carbonation that initially provides a lovely spicy fizzy taste. The aroma is a gorgeous hoppy one (love that Citra hop). The taste is quite different, much darker, harsh malts, a strong alcohol taste from the 7.5% and an almost imperial stoutish brutishness in the aftertaste (alas I don’t like that). Mixed bag.

Bottle at a tasting. Very good beer. Lots of juicy hoppiness, tropical, citrusy, resiny. Light roasted malt complementing the hoppiness. High bitterness, dry finish, dry overall. Medium-thin body.
